Second still Utena

It seamsI lost one blog. so will write another one. How there was a jewish house that I used to pass caryiyng the bouques to Mothers friends and a little girl always asked me" duok man kvetke"/which ment- give me a flower?, So I used to pick a few flowers and give it to her! I wander- where is she now?
There were no TV or computers then, so we read a lot, played cards a lot, visited friend, played cowboys and Indians/ very popular then/, went to the movies, Winter time did all the Winter Sports, in the Fall- went mashrooming, barry picking and hazel nutt picking in the woods. My brother George finished primary school and started Gimnazija. They changed the system, so my parents hiered a tutor and I did 2 grades in one year with two boys- Leonas Vaskelis and Kostas Jasutis.
My Dad was beeing moved to KAUNAS, so I passed the egzams to AUSROS MERGAICIU GIMNAZIJA, which was the best school for girls.
There are so many things to write about= hard to choose!

My childhood

We spend each Summer a month at my Granparents Prialgauskas in Zemaitija and a month in Smilgelius, the farm near Panevezys that my Father inherited from Laurinaitis family.  I will talk about it later. We were braught up on organic food, fresh air and nature. It was an ideal childhood. Both my Mother and Grangmother spoke 5 languages, played piano, were gourmet cooks and were real ladies. At that time it was a rare thing- I was very proud of my family. I was the 5th generation that lerned to play on the same baby Grand that was passed on in the family. Our furniture were all antique- I hated it at the time! Now I would treasure it!
My parents were very progresive, modern gardeners. Used to get seeds from Holland, grew corn, all kinds of vegies and our flower gardens were fameus in town. People use to come on Sundays just to walk by and see them! Mother used to cut some , make bouquets and make me deliver to her friends.

Utena

I was 2 years old when e moved to Utena- my brother George was 4. My Dad worked for Lithuanian Governament- he was a CONTROLER os 2 states- Utenos and Zarasu. Both states were full of small lakes, forestts- lots of resort places. Town of Utena was small, I guess 10000 population and very muck Class concheus. PONAI- and lower class servants and town people. We rented a house on the lake- it was fun during the Summer to swim and during the winter to scate and go down the hill with the sled. My Dad had this big , tabagen style , sled made for us- we used to hitch our Dog, Rex, in to it. George went to Gimnazija after he finished lower school, which was in an old estate building, with lovely park around it. We used to play cowboys and Indians there. George always had his friends in to play- and I tried to fit in with the oys.
From early on I was very atletic, ran, swam, climbed trees.
Winters were long- we played a lot of cards, games, Produced plays.
My first Girl Scout Camp was when I was 7 - for 2 weeks, in Zarasai woods. Next time about that....

Leukadija- we used to call her KADE

So here it goes.
I always wandered why Kade was kike a part of the family. When my Mother finished the Girls Bording school in Liepaja, Latvia- she went to St Petersburg to the University, Must have been like 11915  or so,. While she was there, the Russian Revolusion started. But that is again another story. In 1918 lithuania became Independent  but it took her 2 years to come home through poland and other countries
When she arrived  home, BEBRUNGAS country estate, she found her parents and a little boy IGNAS, who was like 10 years old and she was told, that he was he brother! I realy dio not know when she found out that he was Leukadijos Stonaites and her fathers, Vaclovas Prialgauskas son!. Leukadija was a made in that family, very prity, young- the rest is history!
Most amazing thing that my Grandmother adopted the boy and kept Leukadija in the house and when my Mother got married- Leukadija became her house keeper. And she was like the member of our family.  So this is the story I wanted to finish!
